Library is the heart of any Institution. It plays a vital role in the development of the students as well as the staff at the college. Smt. Mathubai Garware Kanya Mahavidyalaya Library, Sangli has been established right from the inception of the college in the 1972-73. It was started with the collection of 1700 Books and 33 Periodicals in the inception year itself. In the years ahead, library has made consistent progress in terms of its collection of Books, Periodicals, CD’s/DVD’s, E-Resources, Tools and Technologies, Advanced Infrastructure etc. to provide smooth delivery of services to its users.

With time the process of dissemination of information at the library has changed. ICT is the driving force behind it. Libraries have started to acquire the knowledge resources in digital form. Demand and expectation of the patrons have changed with time as all spheres of human life began to to dependent more on ICT.

Later in the year 2018, the library had been renamed as Knowledge Resources Centre. Our KRC has continued to add to its collection. At present it holds 49049 Senior College Books, 9969 Junior College Books, 810 + Competitive Exam Books, 81 + Career Oriented Counselling Books, 534 + Periodical Bound Volumes, 70 + National and International Periodicals and Journals, 85 + Previous Years Question Paper Sets, 6,00,000 + E-books and 6,000 + E-Journals subscribed under N-List.

KRC now has started to share knowledge resources to its patrons in e-format which are more economic, sharable (Network Compatible), cost effective and with huge variety of content.

In-addition, our KRC has begun to focus more on network based services. Some of them are mentioned below:

a) Access to online databases
b) Access to full-text online e-journals
c) Internet search service
d) WEB OPAC etc
